Veteran Mike Pelfrey was scheduled to take the mound as the Chicago White Sox looked to get on the winning track against the Baltimore Orioles on Monday night at Guaranteed Rate Field.
While the Sox have lost nine of their last 11 games, Pelfrey has pitched well. The veteran right-hander was 2-1 with a 1.89 earned-run average over his last four starts prior to Monday's start.
The Orioles, who were 31-30 entering the game, were set to send left-hander Wade Miley against Pelfrey and the Sox.
