A series that started off on a good note turned sour quite quickly as the White Sox’s stay in Kansas City came to a merciful end with Thursday night’s 2-1 loss. The Sox lost not only the game, but their starting pitcher Miguel Gonzalez as well. Now at six games under .500, things are bleak on the South Side.
Describe the game in three words: Prognosis: not good.
Not what the doctor ordered: Just about when things couldn’t get much worse for the White Sox, they did in the second inning. Facing leadoff hitter Salvador Perez, Gonzalez reached a full count and then threw an 86 mph slider that Perez fouled off.
