Micker Adolfo's year-round quest to sharpen his approach

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. — There’s a creeping sense that White Sox minor leaguer Micker Adolfo wasn’t entirely happy with his 2016 season. A rough, .219/.260/.340 introduction to Low-A Kannapolis as a 19-year-old capped off his third-straight injury-shortened campaign since he was the biggest international amateur signing in franchise history in 2013. But despite breaking his hamate bone in May, he ended the minor league season healthy.

“I don’t take it for granted at all being able to play every day because I know what it’s like to be disabled and not being able to be on the field,” Adolfo said, before repeating it for emphasis.
