Michael Kopech’s voice wavered a little at times as he explained for a second straight day why he used racist and homophobic language in 2013 tweets he since has deleted, and he considered how their exposure affected his loved ones.
But after receiving backlash on social media and elsewhere, he also wanted to clarify that he apologized for what he said and not who he is. He said he’s not racist or homophobic.
