Michael Kopech had a revelation during a rough June.
The top-ranked White Sox pitching prospect was thinking about his next step instead of his task at Double-A Birmingham. That approach may have contributed to his 6.95 ERA in June — the only month at Birmingham where his ERA jumped above 2.50.
"I was thinking too far ahead, thinking about maybe a promotion or whatever the case may be," Kopech said.
