The City Series reached a milestone Saturday afternoon when White Sox ace Chris Sale faced the Cubs' Jon Lester at Wrigley Field.
It was the 100th interleague meeting between the crosstown rivals who traditionally play up to the hype even if one or both teams are having a down year.
I've covered all 100 games of the City Series, including the inaugural meeting in 1997, the first time the two teams met for real since the 1906 World Series. It was a different era, of course, and everyone was eagerly anticipating the series.
Well, almost everyone.
