Matt Skole is getting a start in the designated hitter spot as the White Sox try to build off Friday night’s 8-3 victory over the Brewers.
Skole will replace former Georgia Tech teammate Daniel Palka as the DH and cleanup hitter on Saturday afternoon against Jhoulys Chacin (3-1, 3.69 ERA).
Skole, a fifth-round pick of the Nationals in 2011, was signed as a minor-league free agent last November. He hit .259 with five home runs and an .803 OPS at Triple-A Charlotte to earn a promotion when Matt Davidson went on the disabled list with a back injury.
