When his senior season began, Matt Klug didn’t envision being a starter for his high school team. The last thing on his mind was getting drafted in the 2018 MLB Draft. However, that’s exactly what happened when the White Sox selected the Brookwood outfielder in the 38th round with the 1,128 overall pick. White Sox Scouting Director Nick Hostetler and Scout Kevin Burrell viewed Klug as a high-character person who could inspire others throughout the organization.
Klug went through a rough three years starting 2015, when he lost his best friend to a brain tumor that was detected late.
