The White Sox called up third baseman Matt Davidson from Triple-A Charlotte before Thursday’s game against the Twins at U.S. Cellular Field.
Davidson could be in line to make his first major-league appearance since playing 31 games with the Diamondbacks in 2013. He was acquired by the Sox in exchange for Addison Reed in December 2013, but he never found his way up to the major-league club.
He has hit .268 with 20 doubles, 10 home runs, 46 RBIs, 32 walks, 35 runs scored and 86 strikeouts over 75 games with Charlotte this season and was named to the Triple-A All-Star team.
