GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Matt Davidson and Carlos Sanchez are among the latest cuts as the White Sox reduced their spring training roster Tuesday morning.
Reliever Tommy Kahnle, infielder Leury Garcia and outfielder Jason Coats were also sent to minor-league camp. The White Sox have 31 players left in big league camp with Opening Day now six days away. Davidson, Sanchez, Kahnle and Garcia were optioned to Triple-A Charlotte while Coats was reassigned.
Perhaps the most pleasant surprise of a strong camp for the team, Davidson has raked all spring. The third baseman hit .413/.438/.783 with a team-high five home runs and nine RBIs.
