As close to perfection as any reliever in major league history, Mariano Rivera made history again on Tuesday, becoming the first unanimous selection to the Baseball Hall of Fame.
The Yankees’ closer was named on all 425 ballots by the Baseball Writers’ Association of America while joining starters Roy Halladay and Mike Mussina and former Mariners DH Edgar Martinez in the Class of 2019.
