The Chicago White Sox placed Luis Robert on the injured list Tuesday as a precaution after the center fielder reported flu-like symptoms.
“Luis Robert called our medical staff Monday night and reported feeling flu-like symptoms,” said Sox general manager Rick Hahn in a statement. “As a precaution, we are placing Robert on the IL until we receive results from further testing.
“As was the case earlier this month with (pitcher) Dylan Cease, our hope is that his symptoms resolve quickly and that the testing protocols clear him to return to the active roster soon. Right-handed pitcher Alex McRae will replace Luis on the active roster for (Tuesday’s) game.
