MINNEAPOLIS — Lucas Giolito had one of his best starts of the season Wednesday, leading the Chicago White Sox to a 2-1 victory against the Minnesota Twins.
Giolito allowed one run on two hits with 11 strikeouts and three walks in eight innings as the Sox won the rubber match of the three-game series in front of 8,608 at Target Field.
After Twins designated hitter Nelson Cruz homered to center in the third for the game’s first run, García led off the fifth with a double. He moved to third on a bunt and scored when Adam Eaton beat a throw to first by shortstop Jorge Polanco for a two-out infield hit.
