Lucas Giolito is placed on the injured list with a strained left hamstring, leaving the Chicago White Sox down 2 pitchers from their rotation

Giolito’s injury came on the same day the Sox placed starter Lance Lynn on the 10-day IL with right knee inflammation. The Sox are hopeful Lynn will miss only one start.

In a corresponding move before the series opener against the Royals in Kansas City, Mo., the Sox recalled pitcher Ryan Burr from Triple-A Charlotte.
