Giolito arrived in town last week. He has met some of the new members of the team, including pitcher Lance Lynn, whom the Sox acquired in December in a trade with the Texas Rangers.
“Lance brings a bulldog mentality,” Giolito said. “The guy takes the ball and goes deep. His track record has been fantastic the last few years.
“And another veteran presence too. He’s come from winning organizations. He can kind of guide the way for younger starters like myself who haven’t pitched deep in the playoffs. He brings a lot to the table.”
Lynn finished sixth in American League Cy Young Award voting in 2020, one spot ahead of Giolito and one behind fellow Sox starter Dallas Keuchel.
