Lucas Giolito allowed six runs on eight hits in four innings for the Chicago White Sox in a 9-1 loss to the Kansas City Royals on Wednesday at Guaranteed Rate Field. He surrendered three home runs in his shortest outing of the season.

Giolito allowed a solo home run to Edward Olivares in the second, a two-run homer to Salvador Perez in the third and a solo shot to Michael A. Taylor in the fourth. Ryan O’Hearn hit a two-run homer off reliever José Ruiz in the seventh.
