The numbers haven’t been pretty in his last two starts, but Lucas Giolito (6.19 ERA) will take a 2-1 record into his matchup against fellow-right hander Brad Heller (2-1, 2.45 ERA) and the Royals on Wednesday afternoon.
Against the Yankees on Friday, Giolito exited with two men on and the White Sox up 7-5 in the sixth inning. The bullpen held the lead and the Sox won the rain-shortened game 9-6 to give Giolito his second victory.
Over his last two starts, Giolito has allowed nine earned runs on 12 hits and eight walks with 10 strikeouts in 9 1/3 innings.
