Team Abreu topped Team Frazier 5-4 on Monday at Camelback Ranch, with captains Jose Abreu and Todd Frazier each getting a hit in the first White Sox intrasquad game.
As Sox executive vice president Ken Williams watched from his golf cart, he said he felt good about what he would see when the two teams merge.
"I commented to someone today that either team that we had playing against one another was a pretty good club," Williams said. "You combine both of those clubs, and it has a chance to be something special.
