White Sox designated hitter Justin Morneau wasn't ready to make a final determination Saturday whether he plans to play his 15th major-league season next year.
But the 35-year-old said he is interested to see if he has shown teams enough over the last two months since coming back from offseason elbow surgery that they think the soon-to-be free agent can help in 2017.
"Hopefully I've shown enough, but you never know," Morneau said. "If the right opportunity is not there, the choice might not be up to me. At this point, I would lean toward I still enjoy the work and still would like to (play), but it also has to make sense at this point with my family and spending time away and all that stuff.
