José Abreu’s 2-run home run in the 6th breaks open a tight game as the Chicago White Sox beat the Minnesota Twins 9-3 to stay atop the AL Central

Yasmani Grandal tied the game with a three-run home run in the second and José Abreu put the Sox ahead with a two-run homer in the sixth on the way to a 9-3 victory in front of 7,962 at Guaranteed Rate Field.

The Sox have found plenty of other ways to score, as Tuesday marked their third straight game with nine runs. They scored twice in the sixth, courtesy of the Abreu home run, and two more times in the seventh and eighth to win their fourth straight game.

“There was a lot of good stuff with the home runs,” Sox manager Tony La Russa said.
