Jose Abreu will miss the series against the Indians in Cleveland with a right thigh infection, according to MLB.com.
The White Sox said the thigh infection, which was serious enough to require hospitalization, is not connected to an earlier injury that sidelined Abreu in August.
Abreu went on the disabled list on Aug. 22 with testicular torsion, which originally was termed a "lower abdomen/groin area" injury.
"It was one of my testicles turned sideways and was strangled,” Abreu explained through an interpreter when he returned to the lineup earlier this month.
