BALTIMORE — When Jose Abreu stepped to the plate with two outs in the ninth inning Saturday night at Camden Yards, he had more than just the weight of a tie game resting on his bat.
He also knew his error in the eighth inning had contributed to the White Sox losing the lead, and this was his chance to redeem himself.
And so he did.
Abreu knocked an 0-1 pitch from Orioles reliever Vance Worley into right field to score Adam Eaton from second base to help the Sox to an 8-7 victory.
