White Sox first baseman Jose Abreu had what he called "one of the best winters of my life."
Highlights included his wedding and a trip with Major League Baseball to his home country of Cuba, where he visited with his son and his grandmother.
After the Sox's first full-squad workout lasted more than three hours Tuesday, Abreu said he wants the good feeling to continue into the spring and summer.
"Today, the first practice, everybody was happy and laughing and making jokes," Abreu said through a team interpreter. "That's the kind of atmosphere that we need here.
