DETROIT — The White Sox bullpen has been the untouchable force behind the team’s surprising start, so in the relentlessly ironic world of baseball, their traditional powers returned to save the day when the relief corps finally faltered.
Two homers from Jose Abreu, and a 10th-inning blast from Melky Cabrera, carried the Sox to their sixth-straight victory, a 6-4 nail-biter over the Tigers in Detroit, after the home team rallied for two runs to tie the game in the ninth.
“We are playing really good baseball right now,” Abreu said through interpreter Billy Russo. “I think everybody knows that.
