Jonathan Cannon’s Strong Outing Shuts Down Astros

Jonathan Cannon took the mound for the White Sox against Framber Valdez and the Houston Astros. Cannon pitched 8.2 innings with four strikeouts and one walk.

In the bottom of the third inning, the White Sox bats came to life. Danny Mendick singled and Korey Lee walked. Both runners advanced on a wild pitch from Framber Valdez. Tommy Pham drew another walk to load the bases. Andrew Vaughn grounded into a fielder’s choice and Mendick scored to put the Sox on the board.

With the Astros threatening in the top of the fifth, Korey Lee threw out Trey Cabbage trying to steal second to end the inning.
