John Danks, quiet White Sox offense fall short against Rays

Over the first four games of their trip, the White Sox etched out enough offense to provide victories for their stellar starting pitchers.

With John Danks on the mound Saturday against the Rays, the Sox hitters found it too big of a task.

Danks allowed five earned runs over 6 1/3 innings on the way to a 7-2 loss to the Rays that snapped a five-game Sox winning streak. The Sox have scored just nine runs over their last four games.

"You can't expect these guys to shut people out or give up only one (run)," Sox manager Robin Ventura said.
