SAN JOSE – Jordie Benn’s difficult start to the season will finally cost him Tuesday night when he gives up his spot in the lineup to Joe Morrow, who will make his Canadiens debut against the San Jose Sharks.
“We needed to make a change there, so (Benn) is going to take a break,” Claude Julien said. “He’s been fighting it a little bit, so it’s a chance for Joe to come in and do the job here for us.”
Morrow last played Sept. 27 against the Toronto Maple Leafs in Quebec City and hasn’t played a meaningful game since April 23, when the Ottawa Senators clinched their first-round series against Morrow’s former team, the Boston Bruins.
