On Tuesday afternoon, ESPN 1000 radio host/CSN Chicago host David Kaplan shared some juicy information he gleaned from an unnamed scout. So, in other words, it was a day that ended in a “y.”
Kaplan’s source, the always-popular archetypal“longtime scout,” shared news of turmoil in the White Sox front office between general manager Rick Hahn and executive vice president Kenny Williams.
No surprise there given the state of the major league club, but interesting nonetheless coming from the well-sourced Kaplan, the ubiquitous sports mensch of Chicago.
The basic story fit into the narrative we imagine about the team: Hahn wants to be proactive in rebuilding a flagging Sox organization, while Williams, always the optimistic roster alchemist, wants to keep making changes on the fly.
