The Chicago White Sox added former big-league manager Jerry Narron to their coaching staff as a major-league instructor, the team announced Wednesday.
Narron, 65, had a 291-341 record in parts of five seasons managing the Texas Rangers (2001-02) and Cincinnati Reds (2005-07). He was sixth in National League Manager of the Year voting in 2006.
Narron has been a bench coach for the Baltimore Orioles (1993), Red Sox (2003, ’20), Reds (’04-05), Milwaukee Brewers (’11-15) and Arizona Diamondbacks (’17-19). He has been a third-base coach for the Orioles (’94) and Rangers (’95-2001). His move to the White Sox was first reported by The Athletic.
