Lifelong White Sox fan Jake Burger had never taken in a game at Guaranteed Rate Field before, but now he's drilled a ball over its fence.
This year's No. 11 pick is newly signed and headed to Arizona on Tuesday for roughly a week of acclimation to pro ball before his assault on the South Atlantic League begins, but the Sox started his tenure in the organization with a tour of the clubhouse, a round with the Chicago media (perhaps an upgrade from Missouri State coverage) and some batting practice with the major league team. Once they were done razzing him, at least.
