Maybe it was the fact that he was nearing the anniversary of his call-up to the majors last August 2017, but since August 2, Reynaldo López has been the ace of the Chicago White Sox.
In seven of nine games, his game scores have been off the charts, averaging a 70. Consider that game score can brusquely correlate to winning percentage, and that means in just about all of his starts in the last two months, López has given the White Sox a 70% chance of winning.
Saturday was no different. With his typical lack of run support, López dug deep and spun seven sparkling, scoreless innings, pushing the White Sox to a 2-0 win over the Baltimore Orioles.
