The White Sox chose infielder Nick Madrigal in the first round (fourth pick overall) of the 2018 First-Year Player Draft.
Madrigal, a native of Elk Grove, California, is 21 years old and stands at 5-foot-7, weighing 165-pounds. He is a right-handed batter and spends most of his time playing second base.
He is batting .406 (54–133) with seven doubles, four triples, three home runs, 32 RBI, 32 runs scored, 11 stolen bases, a .470 on-base percentage, .586 slugging percentage and 1.000 fielding percentage in 32 games for Oregon State this season.
