"When Lucas Met Yasmani" might not be coming to a theater near you.
But the relationship between Lucas Giolito, the ace of the White Sox starting staff, and Yasmani Grandal, the new No. 1 catcher on the South Side, figures to be of interest over at least the next four years.
Certainly Giolito developed a terrific working relationship with James McCann in 2019, when both went to the All-Star Game in Cleveland. Grandal brings a similar reputation as a catcher who works well with his pitching staff. He also brings the experience of playing for winning teams, a veteran of the last five postseasons with the Los Angeles Dodgers and Milwaukee Brewers.
