Indians' Salazar out 3-4 weeks with forearm strain

CHICAGO -- Cleveland Indians right-hander Danny Salazar will be sidelined for three to four weeks with a forearm injury.

Salazar, 23, had an MRI on Monday in Cleveland and was diagnosed with a mild strain to the flexor musculature in his throwing arm. He was examined by Dr. Mark Schickendantz, the Indians' head team physician.

The American League Central-leading Indians said Salazar will get a platelet-rich plasma injection Tuesday and stop throwing for approximately 10 days. The timeline provided by the team indicates he could return for the playoffs, but any setback could shelve Salazar for the year.
