Dylan Covey has been a light in the deep darkness that has been the 2018 White Sox rotation. However, he got roughed up in this one, giving up five runs on six hits in five innings. More troublesome were the five walks, two strikeouts, and of course, ham-handed defense, to which Covey contributed significantly.
That defense allowed the Indians to score three quick runs in the second inning. After Lonnie Chisenhall led off with a sharp single, Rajai Davis hit a chopper up the middle, and Yoan Moncada, in his haste to turn two, had the ball conk off his glove.
