On this week’s edition of Sharing Sox, Will and I had the privilege of having as our guest Dr. Alan Nathan, professor emeritus of physics at the University of Illinois and by all accounts the world’s foremost authority on the physics of baseball.
Nathan is entertaining as well as extremely informative, but it’s pretty long and many of you may not have time to listen to the whole program, which gets to the very basics of things like how baseball spin works and what Magnus force is, how baseballs are made, and what can be done regarding the baseball and handling of it to improve the game (or keep it from deteriorating further).
