Luis Robert attempted to score from second base on a routine ground ball during a Chicago White Sox spring training game.
As teammate Adam Engel recalled, the rookie center fielder slipped as he rounded third, otherwise he might have made it. Instead, he headed back to the base.
When Robert eventually returned to the dugout, some suggested he should be a little more cautious. Engel disagreed.
“As you get an idea of how fast the game is up here, you’ll get an idea of what you can and can’t do,” Engel told Robert. “But we won’t know that until you do it.
