The beginning of the end for Hawk Harrelson starts today as the longtime White Sox announcer enters his final year of broadcasting.
“I’ve been lucky,” Harrelson said. “I’ve been in the right place at the right time in a lot of places.”
Harrelson and former White Sox catcher A.J. Pierzynski teamed up Thursday for a wild news conference before the home opener, giving a glimpse of what’s in store later this season when they team up in the booth for a game.
Harrelson obviously is an old-school “homer” for the Sox, a dying breed in today’s game.
