“The Sounds of Baseball: Harry Caray,” set to debut on MLB Network at 7 p.m. Sunday, speaks well of the long-time voice of the Cubs, White Sox and Cardinals by letting viewers hear him at work.
Hosted by Bob Costas and Tom Verducci as part of a series that already has featured Vin Scully, Jack Buck, Bob Uecker, Al Michaels and Joe Garagiola, “Sounds” covers much of the same territory as Marquee’s Caray show.
It retells many of the same anecdotes, uses some of the same clips and skips over much of the same history. (No one seems interested in the fact John Allyn, not Bill Veeck, owned the White Sox when Caray came aboard in 1971.
