Chris Sale silenced the alarm bells, White Sox hitters lit up the night with home-run fireworks, and the Sox halted a three-game losing streak Monday night with an 8-2 victory over the Angels at U.S. Cellular Field.
Even if the Sox have little chance at earning an American League wild-card spot, it's nights like Monday that keep general manager Rick Hahn from publicly declaring the Sox done when they're not officially out of it.
As the Sox improved to just 52-58 with the victory, Hahn of course knows what a climb it would be to get back into wild-card contention, but he also doesn't see the benefit of calling it just yet.
