Gio, López Set to Face Pirates After Off Day, Top Prospects Jiménez and Cease on Fire

Yesterday’s Highlights

James Shields, in his second straight outstanding outing, held the Twins hitless for 6.1 innings yesterday — but the Sox came out on the losing end of a 5–3 decision in the series finale at Guaranteed Rate Field.

Shields’ outing is the longest no-hit bid for a Sox pitcher since José Quintana on May 21, 2013 vs. the Red Sox (also 6.1) and second-longest no-hit bid of his career (7.0 on August 2, 2009 for the Rays vs. Royals).

And how about this…take a look below at Nicky Delmonico’s spectacular catch which robbed Eduardo Escobar of a two-run homer.
