Gavin Sheets homered twice in his return to the majors for the Chicago White Sox in a 6-3 victory against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Wednesday at Guaranteed Rate Field.
The Sox recalled Sheets from Triple-A Charlotte before the game. He hit a three-run homer to right with two outs in the fourth and a solo home run to center leading off the eighth. He has eight home runs this season.
Leury García had two hits, one RBI and scored once, and Yasmani Grandal had two hits and scored twice. Luis Robert also had two hits, while Yoán Moncada singled in the fifth to extend his career-high hitting streak to 16 games.
