After opening the season with a disappointing series in Anaheim, the White Sox (1-3) are back in action tonight. This game will be the first of a three-game series in Seattle against the Mariners (2-1).
Carlos Rodón will make his first appearance of the 2021 season this evening. Rodón, who was selected third overall by the White Sox in 2014, is beginning the season as the team’s fifth starter. Rodón, a 28-year-old lefthander, has a 4.14 ERA, 4.26 FIP, 4.33 xFIP, and has been worth 7.0 fWAR in his career. Staying healthy has been difficult for Rodón, as he has only pitched 42 1⁄3 innings in the past two seasons.
