For the 16th time in franchise history, the Winston-Salem Dash tossed a no-hitter. It took four hurlers, and a loss of control led to the loss of the shutout, but in the end the White Sox High-A affiliate cruised to a historic win, 12-2.
The Dash put on a pitching and hitting clinic tonight, steamrolling the visiting Rome Emperors. The pitching early on was stellar, and the attack at the plate was relentless, Winston-Salem dominated nearly every aspect of the game.
Tommy Vail set the tone early, keeping Rome’s bats silent and racking up four strikeouts.
