Paul Konerko returned to Camelback Ranch for the first time in two years Wednesday to visit with former White Sox teammates and staff.
But, no, he wasn't there to fill the club's sudden opening at designated hitter.
Konerko, who retired after the 2014 season, spends his days now shuttling around his children — 4, 7 and 10 years old — so much he feels like a taxi driver. He also sneaks in golf and pickup hockey games when he can.
Those activities keep him "a million miles away from baseball," though he doesn't rule out a return to the game as a coach or adviser down the road.
