The John Danks Replacement Search started with Erik Johnson watching a Red Sox home run fly into the bullpen beyond the left-field fence with one out in the first inning Thursday.
The interview didn't go much better after that in a 7-3 White Sox loss at U.S. Cellular Field, and the club will vet more candidates to find someone who can give them better results than Danks, the veteran left-hander whom they cut this week.
Johnson was called up from Triple-A Charlotte on Thursday after the White Sox made it official they had designated Danks for assignment.
