As you might remember, or perhaps you've forgotten after everything that's gone on this year, Cubs manager Joe Maddon was supposed to be in the new season of “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” currently airing on HBO.
Sadly for all of us, a spring training scheduling conflict canceled his cameo appearance, so he decided to do his own cinéma vérité spinoff in the middle of the postseason.
Man, every time Maddon walks up to the mound or steps onto a podium, I hear that familiar Curb theme song, “Frolic.”
Like the fictional David, the real-life Maddon just can’t win when it comes to public opinion nowadays.
