Centerfielder Adam Engel is giving White Sox fans something to cheer about.
In one week, Engel robbed three homers.
Monday, August 6, Engel robbed the Yankees’ Greg Bird of a three-run homer. The following night vs. the Yankees, he took away a homer from Kyle Higashioka. And on Sunday, August 12 vs. Cleveland, Engel timed his jump perfectly to take away a potential three-run homer by Yonder Alonso.
Take a look at each of the catches below:
Engel doesn’t get enough credit for his super-human defense in centerfield. He currently ranks second among all major leaguers in Outs Above Average, falling just one point shy of Cincinnati’s Billy Hamilton and Cardinals’ Harrison Bader — who are tied for first with 16 Outs Above Average.
