White Sox left fielder Eloy Jimenez will return to his hometown of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, to mourn the death of his grandmother. The Sox on Monday placed him on the bereavement list and he will miss at least the three-game series against the Orioles.
Jimenez is batting .231 with three home runs and eight RBIs in 20 games in his rookie season. He is eligible to return for Friday’s series opener against the Tigers at Guaranteed Rate Field.
