Eloy Jiménez returns to the Chicago White Sox lineup as the DH after missing 4 games because of right groin tightness

Eloy Jiménez raced from home to second base during a drill a couple of hours before Tuesday’s game against the Kansas City Royals.

He made his 2021 home debut Tuesday as the designated hitter, batting fourth as the Sox began a three-game series against the Royals.

“Amazing,” he said of getting the chance to play in front of fans at Guaranteed Rate Field for the first time since 2019. “First game back, it’s really amazing.”

The setback occurred three games into his return from a ruptured left pectoral tendon suffered during spring training that sidelined him for nearly the first four months of the season.
